Patriots defensive tackle Davon Godchaux is headed to the New Orleans Saints in a trade that nets New England a 2026 seventh-round pick, according to multiple reports.Godchaux, 30, was given permission to seek a trade in February less than a full year removed from a three-year extension he signed with the Patriots in July 2024. The contract includes base salaries of $4 million in 2025 and $5.5 million in 2026 and will be assumed by the Saints barring a restructure.Godchaux played at LSU and was not an ideal fit for the gap-penetrating defense of new head coach Mike Vrabel.
