Rangers add right-handed reliever Jacob Webb to roster

The Texas Rangers agreed to terms with right-handed relief pitcher Jacob Webb on a one-year contract on Wednesday.

Webb, 31, became a free agent after last season, when he set career bests for innings pitched (56.2) and strikeouts (58) in his first full season with the Baltimore Orioles.

He went 2-5 with two saves and a 3.02 ERA in 60 appearances in 2024, when he earned $1 million.

Webb, who was claimed off waivers by the Orioles from the Los Angeles Angels in August 2023, started with the Atlanta Braves, who selected him in the 18th round of the 2014 MLB Draft.

He is a career 12-10 with a 2.98 ERA, 88 walks and 186 strikeouts in 187.0 innings over 192 relief appearances for the Braves (2019-21), Angels (2023) and Orioles (2023-24). Webb has a career average of 9.0 strikeouts per nine innings, including a rate of 9.2 last season.
