President Barack Obama has canceled his visit to Rhode Island following cancellations to visits in two other states.
Earlier on Wednesday, President Obama announced he was cancelling his visits to New Jersey and Connecticut to attend meetings with officials on the Ebola crisis.
Late Wednesday, Obama announced he was also canceling his trip to the Ocean State after announcing his endorsement of Democrat Gina Raimondo.
White House spokesman Josh Earnest had said Wednesday, responding to reporters’ questions about the President’s political travel, “If necessary, I have no doubt the President will postpone his political travel to attend to important priorities here, but whether a change in tomorrow’s schedule is required we just don’t know that yet.”
Obama had originally planned a visit to Rhode Island College to talk about the economy.
