Former Rhode Island Supreme Court Justice Frank Williams has been appointed to mediate the state’s next high profile lawsuit; Commerce RI’s 38 Studios lawsuit, according to NBC 10.
Williams was appointed by Judge Michael Silverstein. Previously, Williams had been appointed Special Master in the pre-trial proceedings of the pension lawsuit before both sides settled for mediation.
Williams is credited for the success of the mediation between the state and pensioners.
The lawsuit was brought by Commerce Rhode Island – formerly the Economic Development Corporation – against former director Keith Stokes and 38 Studios CEO and famed Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling.
