Newport mansions operated by the Preservation society of Newport County will require all visitors to show proof of vaccination to gain admittance to some of the city’s most popular attractions, starting Monday, January 3. By January 15, visitors and others must show proof of a COVID booster shot.
The Preservation Society already requires everyone at the manions to wear face coverings indoors, including visitors, employees, fellows, interns, volunteers and others.
“Our goal, first and foremost, is to help protect the health of our visitors and our staff,” said Preservation Society CEO Trudy Coxe in a statement.
“We continue to monitor the latest developments regarding COVID, and we intend to be flexible and responsive to evolving conditions,” she said.
