WARWICK, R.I. (AP) — A Rhode Island man who died at the hospital after being found injured and unresponsive in a parking lot last weekend was apparently struck by his own vehicle, police said Tuesday.
Gregory McLaughlin, 80, of West Warwick, was found suffering from serious injuries in the Warwick parking lot at about 8 a.m. Saturday, according to a statement from Warwick police Capt. Joel Thomas. His vehicle was located a short distance away.
He was taken by ambulance to Kent County Memorial Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
The incident remains under investigation and the exact cause of death will be determined by the medical examiner’s office, but neither foul play nor suicide is suspected at this time, Thomas said.
Anyone with information about the death is asked to contact Warwick police.
