Controversy continues for former Providence Police Chief Dean Esserman as a New Haven Connecticut TV station unearths more incidents of bad behavior.

The New Haven police chief was back in the news December 19 after he was reprimanded for threatening to shut down a football game between Yale and West Point after he was denied entry.

WTNH reporters have discovered more incidents of Esserman acting out, including a time when he confronted secret service agents over not being allowed to join First Lady Michelle Obama’s motorcade during a visit in October.

Four law suits against Esserman have been filed, one from an unnamed police officer over a human rights complaint.

Esserman resigned as Chief of Providence Police in 2011 after reported underage drinking was discovered at a house party hosted by his daughter.
