WPRO’s Tara Granahan has learned that Johnny Gates,  who hails from West Warwick, is getting another shot at fame on “The Voice.”  This morning, the Bishop Hendricken grad told Tara he was selected by Gwen Stefani to come back to the singing competition as her only pick from ousted team members.

Johnny also said he chose a “surprising” song to sing for his comeback and put his own spin on it.  Gates also spoke about his connection to Stefani and the outpouring of support from Rhode Islanders.  Fans of the singer can vote up to ten times; “The Voice” airs Monday and Tuesday nights at 8pm on NBC 10.
