Point Street Reading Series, a monthly event which will feature “fun, quirky, and thoughtful” authors, kicks off tomorrow night, March 15, at Point St Dueling Pianos in Providence.
The event series, hosted by Robin Kall, will feature readings by four authors every third Tuesday from 7:30-9pm. The first event, will feature authors Caroline Leavitt (Is This Tomorrow/Cruel Beautiful World), Howard Axelrod– (The Point of Vanishing), Tamara Valentine – (What The Waves Knew), Holly LeCraw– (The Half Brother), and Rachel Cantor– (Good On Paper). The authors will be discussing their works after the readings.
Books will be available for purchase on site from the Brown University Bookstore. There will be snacks provided by Feast at the kick off, and a cash bar and raffle will take place.
Kall tells WPRO’s John DePetro that she has attended several events in bigger cities like New York, so “Why not here? We have such a great community – and that’s what I want it to be – a community feel. There’s such a vibrant, creative Rhode Island community and Providence is the perfect place for this.”
