Providence Police and Mayor Jorge Elorza announced Wednesday the arrest of seven more men in the ongoing prostitution sting on Backpage.com.
The most recent sting operation was conducted September 25 and involved detective posting fake ads on Backpage.com soliciting sex. Undercover policewomen then arranged to meet with the men who responded to the ads, and took the suspects into custody charging them with procurement of sexual conduct for a fee.
The defendants’ names are as follows:
- Orion Wellinghurst, age 28, Bristol
- Vaallah Brown, age 24, Providence
- Rasheed Chinn, age 30, Wrentham, MA
- Robert Spiker, age 50, Bellingham, MA
- Michael Sadler, age 33, Bristol
- Kimball Abbott, age 45, S. Dartmouth, MA
- Jaime Tellez, age 45, Providence
All seven are scheduled to be arraigned October 13 in District Court.
