Johnson and Wales University is working to finalize the purchase of neighboring Port Edgewood Marina.

“JWU has entered into a purchase and sale agreement to purchase Port Edgewood Marina and we expect to close on this agreement in early 2015,” University spokeswoman, Madeline Parmenter, told WPRO News on Monday.

The school would not disclose the purchase price, or what they plan to use the marina for.

According to a listing from Denenberg Realty, the 3.2 acre property off Narrganasett Boulevard on the Cranston-Providence line was listed for $3.2 million, and features 154 boat slips. The listing also says the marina has only had two owners since it was established 67 years ago.
