TV street reporter Sean Daly has announced he will retire at the end of the month after working the beat for over thirty years.

The award-winning journalist arrived on the Rhode Island scene in 1981 and is believed to be the longest serving TV street reporter in the state. Daly will retire from WPRI Channel 12 where he has worked since 2002.

Daly comes from a family of reporters and got his start in broadcast at NBC Washington at the age 17 where he worked as a newsroom assistant. He is a two-time Emmy winner, multiple AP and UPI recipient, and Rhode Island Monthly’s 2014 winner for Best Male Reporter.

Daly’s final broadcast will be on December 31.
