A list of warming and emergency shelters has been provided by the Rhode Island Emergency Management Agency. Although a travel ban is in effect, all people who need the service of an emergency shelter, or need to travel to a relative's home for heat, may do so.
Those who plan to utilize shelter services should bring pillows, blankets, sleeping bags, or air mattresses; extra clothing, shoes, eyeglasses; folding chairs, lawn chairs or cots; personal hygiene supplies; flashlights and batteries; quiet games, books and favorite toys; important papers and prescription medications.
Pets are not permitted.
