The National Weather Service (NWS) updated their Blizzard Warning at 5 a.m. Friday, changing the forecast accumulation amounts to up to 3 feet of snow.
Light snow was expected to develop Friday morning, and has already been reported in southern Rhode Island.
Snow is expected to become heavier throughout Friday afternoon, with the heaviest snow falling Friday night into Saturday.
There will also be wind gusts up to 70 miles per hour according the the updated NWS Blizzard Warning, which will last until Saturday afternoon.
