The Associated Press says, the Rhode Island Health Department is describing this flu season as being “particularly severe” and possibly the worst in years. The University of Rhode Island is urging all students to get a flu shot before returning to campus.

Spring semester classes start on January 23. URI is also encouraging staff and faculty members to also get the flu vaccine.

According to the Associated Press, University officials say the flu shot will not be available on campus.
