Police were looking for a robber who wore a white mask and brandished a handgun as he held up the Bank of America Branch at 575 Branch Avenue in Providence, soon after it opened Thursday morning.
The robber, described as a male with a hooded jacket of some type, with some type of white mask, dark clothing and possibly blue jeans, according to Providence Police Commander Thomas Oates.
"One individual who was armed with a handgun came in, threatened the tellers and took an undetermined amount of money at this time, and fled the scene on foot," Oates said.
"We were told he was very aggressive in his demands. One woman was frightened, obviously for good reason. She's been taken by rescue," to Rhode Island Hospital, Oates said, but she had no signs of any physical injuries.
