Police responded to a school shooting at an elementary school in Newtown, Connecticut on Friday morning. Reports indicate 27 people have been confirmed dead, 18 of which are children.
Reports from the Hartford Courant say the incident happened at around 9:40 a.m. at Sandy Hook Elementary School. The Courant says police have said there are "multiple" of shooting victims.
The shooter was in the main office of the school and according to police one of the people in that room had multiple gunshot injuries.
Sources tell the Courant that one of the shooters is dead. The second shooter is apparently at large.
The school district has locked down all schools as a preventative measure to ensure its students and staff’s safety.
